Ozark, Mo. -- The No. 21 ranked Missouri Southern baseball team ventured out of MIAA play today and fell 5-3 at Drury inside US Baseball Park.
The Lions (29-14) got two hits each from Freddie Landers, Denver Coffee and Matt Miller. Miller had two RBIs and a run scored, including a double and a home run. Million and Jon Leighton had a double each, while Leighton and Dexter Swims added a run each.
Joey Reeves started and went six innings, striking out five in the loss. Brennon Covington and River Wright threw in relief.
Drury (24-20) had six players with a hit each.
The Lions started the scoring with an RBI double from Million in the fourth inning, scoring Leighton. Drury scored twice in the fourth and the sixth to lead 4-1 after six innings.
Southern got a run back in the seventh to cut the lead in half (4-2) when Troy Gagan drove home Swims, but Drury answered in their half of the inning to go up 5-2. Miller added a solo shot in the eighth.
The Lions will be back in action this weekend when Southern plays host to Pittsburg State on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
