MSSU men's golf sixth after opening day of MIAA Championships

Monkey Island, Okla. -- The Missouri Southern men's golf team is in sixth place after day one of the 2019 MIAA Men's Golf Championships hosted at Shangri-La Country Club.

The Lions shot a round-one 296 and followed it up with a round-two 290 to finish at 596 after day one. Southern will play a final 18 holes tomorrow to complete the tournament.

Jeremy Dunham and Taylor Haltom are both tied at 11th after they shot a one-over 145 on the day. Tripper Jensen is tied at 15th with a 147, while Logan Greer is tied for 24th at 149 and Tristan Haltom is tied for 29th at 151.








Lindenwood leads the field by three strokes after day one with a two-round 571. Northeastern State is second, followed by Washburn, Central Missouri, Central Oklahoma, the Lions, Missouri Western, Fort Hays State, Southwest Baptist and Lincoln to round out the team scores.

Teams will tee off tomorrow morning at 8:30 am for a final 18 holes to determine the MIAA Champion.
