MSSU's Freddie Landers named MIAA Baseball Player of the Week

Missouri Southern senior Freddie Landers has been named the MIAA Baseball Player of the Week as announced by the league office today.

Landers, a transfer from Savannah State and a native of Grayslake, Ill., helped the Lions to two wins last weekend in Edmond, Oklahoma which included a dramatic five-run bottom of the ninth comeback to defeat No. 40 Lubbock Christian.





For the week, he hit .545 with five runs scored, six hits and two RBIs. Landers also recorded two walks, one stolen base and was hit by a pitch three times. He had two hits in each of the three games but finished the weekend with a home run, three runs scored, two RBIs and a stolen base against LCU.

Landers and the Lions will open up the home schedule this weekend as Southern plays host to Northwestern Oklahoma on Saturday and Sunday.
