MSSU men's track and field picks up three NCAA provisional qualifying marks

The Missouri Southern men's track and field team picked up three NCAA Provisional Qualifying marks in the final day of the 2019 MSSU Lion Open and Multi today on Mercy Track inside the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.

Rajindra Campbell started things off for the Lions picking up a second-place finish and an NCAA Provisional mark in the shot put with a heave of 56-06.00, while Josh Fulmer placed 11th. DeShaun Williams finished fourth in the high jump with a height of 6-05, while Mayson Derousse and Mason York were 11th and 12th in the pole vault.







Brendan Watkins finished second in the triple jump with an NCAA Provisional mark of 48-04.50, while Adrain Broadus was third with a provisional of his own, jumping to a distance of 47-10.00. Ivan Colbert was fourth in the finals of the men's 60m hurdles, finishing in a time of 8.61, identical to his prelims time, while Colbert finished 24th in the 400m dash.

Nathan Painter was second in the 800m, finishing in a time of 1:58.81, while Blake Gillihan was fifth and Ryan Drendell placed 11th. Painter placed second in the mile, finishing in a time of 4:23.11, while Kevin Koester was fourth, Nickson Kiptoo was sixth and Jared Ozee placed eighth. Michael Shanahan was 10th and Drendel placed 20th.




Southern will be back in action next weekend as the Lions travel to Pittsburg State on Friday and Saturday.
