Missouri Southern senior sprinter Morgan Smith has been named the MIAA Female Track Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office today.
Smith, a senior from Raymore, Mo., nearly broke her own record as she recorded an NCAA Provisional mark in the 60m hurdles at the University of Arkansas this weekend.
She raced to a third-place finish with a time of 8.64 seconds. It is Smith's second weekly accolade from the association this season.
Smith and the 9th-ranked Lions will be back in action this weekend as Southern travels to Maryville to compete in the 2019 MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Northwest Missouri State University.
