MSSU freshman Luallen picks up All-MIAA Honors at Indoor Track and Field Championships

Maryville, Mo. -- Missouri Southern freshman Claire Luallen picked up All-MIAA honors and six points for the women's track and field team as the Lions competed in day one the 2019 MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Luallen placed third in the Pentathlon, scoring an NCAA Provisional Qualifying mark of 3,651 points, just 15 points off of the Missouri Southern school record. Miracle Grant was 14th with 3,056 points.







Luallen started the day with a second-place finish in the 60m hurdles finishing in a time of 8.74. She was then fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.6m and also won the long jump with a mark of 5.77m.

The Lions picked up six points in the event and sit in third place after day one. Southern will begin day two tomorrow with field events starting at 1:30 pm.
