MSSU's Cam Martin named MIAA CO-Athlete of the Week

Missouri Southern sophomore Cam Martin has been named the MIAA Men's Basketball Co-Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office today.

Martin, a 6-9 native of Yukon, Okla., shares the award with Central Oklahoma's Adarius Avery and it is the third time he has won the honor this year.

Martin helped the Lions to a pair wins over Pittsburg State and on the road at Emporia State. He averaged 21 points and 12 rebounds this week while shooting 63 percent from the field and 86 percent from the free-throw line.

Martin also averaged 2.0 assists per game. He started the week with a 21-point, 10 rebound performance against Pittsburg State and followed that up with a 21-point, 14 rebound showing at ESU. It is the 16th double-double of the season for Martin.

Martin and the Lions will be back in action this Thursday, traveling to Fort Hays State for a 7:30 pm tip off.
