Missouri Southern senior jumper Darion Boure has been named the MIAA Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced today.
Boure, a native of St. Louis, improved on his school record by six inches when he picked up a provisional distance and won the triple jump with a distance of 50-03.75 this weekend as the Lions competed at the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational.
That mark ranks third nationally, tops in the MIAA, and gives the Lions two top 11 marks in the event this year.
Boure and the Lions will be in action this weekend when Southern travels to Lincoln, Neb. for the Nebraska Tune Up.
