The Missouri Southern women's basketball team has qualified as the No. 4 seed in the 2015 MIAA Basketball Tournament and will open up with its first game on Friday, March 6 in Kansas City, Mo. at the historic Municipal Auditorium.
The Lions will play in the 2:15 PM game on Friday afternoon and will play the winner of the Central Missouri/Lindenwood game that will be played in Warrensburg on Tuesday evening.
Fort Hays State earned the regular-season championship and the No. 1 seed in the tournament. Emporia State is the No. 2 seed, while Pittsburg State earned the No. 3 seed. Central Oklahoma is the No. 6 seed and is playing host to No. 11 Nebraska-Kearney in a play in game. No. 7 Missouri Western will host No. 10 Lincoln, while No 8 Washburn will host No. 9 Northeastern State.
Tickets for games in Kansas City can be purchased on Monday or Tuesday by either emailing Randon Coffey (coffey-r@mssu.edu) or by calling at 417-625-3075. Missouri Southern's allottment of single-session tickets have been sold out, but all-session passes can be purchased for $50.
There will be a send-off for the women an hour and a half before their game near the escalator at the Kansas City Marriott.
