Joplin Blasters games to be broadcast on ESPN 1560

The Joplin Blasters have announced a partnership with My Town Media and ESPN Radio to be the Official Flagship Station for the 2015 season. ESPN Radio 1560 WMBH will broadcast all Joplin Blasters game, including all exhibition, regular season and potential playoff games.

“ESPN and professional sports are almost synonymous, and we looking forward to working with them as our broadcasting partner for the upcoming season,” said Shawn Suarez, GM for the Joplin Blasters. “We will now be conducting a search to find ‘The Voice' of the Joplin Blasters.”

In addition to broadcasting all things Joplin Blasters, there are plans to have a weekly specialty radio show to showcase current events with the team. This show looks to provide a new voice and will focus on player moves, league and team announcements, and professional sports in general.

Mike Snow, Program Director for WMBH said, “As soon as we heard about professional baseball coming to Joplin, we wanted to be involved. WMBH 1560 is currently the radio home to Joplin Eagle athletics from September through May. With the addition of the Joplin Blasters baseball, we now have year round LOCAL sports on the air. “

The Blasters are the newest member of the South Division in the American Association of Independent Baseball. They will play a 50 home game schedule beginning in May of 2015 at a renovated Joe Becker Stadium, and will be a major entertainment destination for the Four States Community.
