The Missouri Southern women's track and field team picked up four provisionals this weekend as the Lions competed at the Oklahoma Baptist Invite, as well as the Tyson Invitational.
At the University of Arkansas, Kaitlyn Belisle picked up a provisional time in the 5k at the Tyson Invitational. Belisle placed third in a time of 17:21.26.
At OBU, Melanie Bower placed second in the pole vault and picked up a provisional height of 12-02.75. That mark ranks her second in the MIAA. It is four inches off of her personal best, and ties for the ninth-best height of all-time in MSSU indoor history.
In the long jump, Kaylee Morgan placed second with a provisional distance or 18-05.00, while Shelby Newellwas fourth, Allie Heckemeyer was eighth and Emily Paullus placed 11th. Morgan's mark is an inch off her personal best and is the eighth-longest jump in MSSU indoor history.
Victoria Foley picked a provisional mark in the weight throw with a second place finish in a distance of 54-05.50, while Halee Cashio was 18th, Allie Webb placed 20th and Alexis Acklin was 24th.
In other action, Sydney Potts placed fourth in the 600m with a time of 1:41.26, while Destiny Akannam and Heckemeyer placed 12th and 18th, respectively in the 400m.
Paullus placed 12th in the 60m hurdles finals, while the 4x440 yard relay team of Heckemeyer, Akannam, Morgan and Traci Walker was 8th in a time of 4:12.93. Morgan and Kylee Hulsey placed 10th in the high jump, while Newell was fourth in the triple jump. Newell jumped to a distance of 37-06.50, while Heckemeyer was fifth and Mahogony Jones placed 11th.
Cashio placed ninth in the shot put, while Katie Skelton was 12th.
The Lions will be back in action next Friday when they travel to Lincoln, Neb. to compete in the Nebraska Tune Up.
