The Missouri Southern men's track and field team competed both at the University of Central Missouri and the University of Nebraska Friday.
At Central Missouri, the Lions had nine top-two finishes, as well as two provisional marks. The mile relay team of Jeff Fraley, Thomas Hawkins (pictured), Erron Holley and Anthony Price picked up a win and a provisional in the event. The time of 3:21.77 is just off the MSSU school record and when converted for a banked track is a provisional time.
Morgan Hold was second in the pole vault with a provisional height of 15-07, while Jayce Thomas placed second in the high jump with a height of 6-04.75.
Tyler Hovey was second in the shot put in a distance of 50-11.50, while Bryan Burns was third and Nicklas Polizzi was fifth. Burns placed second in the weight throw in a distance of 54-04.50, while Polizzi was fifth and Hovey was sixth.
Desmond Williams won the long jump in a distance of 22-10.50, while Jacob Rowe was second with a leap of 22-03.50.
Sam Kohrs was second in the 400m dash in a time of 50-60, while Tavion Jones was third. Ben Grant was second in the 800m in a time of 1:58.64, while Ben Southwick (4:33.13) and Gabe Lodge placed second and eighth, respectively, in the mile. Nathan Henry was second in the 3k in a time of 9:01.95, while Drake Smelserplaced eighth.
At Nebraska, Miles Migliara was seventh in the 800m run in a time of 1:55.16, while Thomas Zeilman placed 16th. Andrew Webster was ninth in the mile with a time of 4:17.13, while Adrian Todd was tenth in the 3k in a time of 8:48.25, while Eric Schott and Colton Wooldridge placed 14th and 18th, respectively.
The Lions will be back in action tomorrow as a handful of athletes will compete at the Arkansas Open at the University of Arkansas.
