The Missouri Southern Lions dropped a 1-0 decision Saturday morning to Lindenwood University at Hal Bodon Field.
The Lindenwood Lady Lions (2-7-3, 1-4-1 MIAA) scored the lone goal in the fourth minute as Alexis Robbers beat Missouri Southern goalkeeper Shawnee Phillips on a breakaway. Lindenwood out shot the Lions 12-4 in the first half and Southern tied with Lindenwood 6-6 in the second half.
Sophomores Hannah Bomar and Taylor Beck led the way for the Lions with four and three shots respectively, with each of them recording two shots on goal. Phillips played all 90 minutes in the net for the Lions coming up with four saves on the day.
Up next for the Lions will be a Thursday night tilt with the Washburn Ichabods. Kickoff for the Pink Game is scheduled for 7pm.
