MSSU baseball team begins fall world series

The Missouri Southern baseball team will begin its fall world series tonight at Warren Turner Field. The series consists of three games on Thursday, Friday and Sunday, beginning at 5:15 pm tonight.

Tonight's opener will feature two Lions' aces going head-to-head as Cody Hutchinson will pitch for the Green team, whilePayton Walker starts for the Gold. Friday's game begins at 5:30 pm, while Sunday's game begins at noon. The team will be serving free hot dogs to fans attending Friday night's game.

Junior infielder Richie Gorski, as well as senior designated hitter Jesse Rall got to select their respective teams in a live draft held earlier this week. The Gold team consists of Jacob Bryant, Colin Chandler, Austin White, Sean Goostree, Lane Ketterman, Hunter Harrison, Joe Paulino, Matt Harvey, Trever Burkdoll, Jesse Rall, Payton Walker, Brett Graham, Garan Stevens, Drew Pearson, Tyler Sutherland, Austin Aspegren, Crag Larkin and Jack Kemper.

The Green team consists of Richie Gorski, Jackson Cain, Chris Hoffman, Danny Biggs, Hayden Steel, Chris Leonardi, Matt Smith, Conner Matson, Zach Litchen, Austin Carter, Kyle McCulloch, Austyn Gooch, Cody Smith, Tanner Brown, Cody Hutchinson, Kyle Smith, Derek Mann and Trenton Moeller.
