MSSU cross country finishes 14th at Chili Pepper Invitational

Fayetteville, Ark. -- Vincent Kiprop placed 11th overall and the Lions finished 14th at the Chili Pepper Invitational today hosted by the University of Arkansas.

Kiprop improved his 8k time by 17 seconds from his last race. He was the third-best finishing non Division I racer to finish, completing the 8k course in a time of 23:53.77. Nathan Henryplaced 97th with a time of 25:35.36, while Jared Haltomfinished the course in a time of 26:42.34. Jacob Coffmanfinished in a time of 27:09.95, while Luke Johnson ran a time of 27:42.72.

Zach Caruthers finished in 28:25.48, while Ryan Drendel ran a time of 30:22.20.

The Lions were the 11th best finishing non Division II team with a total of 392 points.

Southern will be back in action next weekend, competing in the Jackling Jocks Invitational at Missouri S&T.
