MSSU adds Arkansas golfer

(From MSSU Lions Athletic News)

Missouri Southern golf coach Mike Wheeler has announced the signing of a second golfer for the 2015-16 season.

Jake Badovinac comes to the Lions from Harrison, Arkansas where he was a four year letter winner at Harrison HS. During his four years he helped the Goblins extended their dominance in the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) Class 5A West District to 10 straight titles.

During that time Badovinac and the Goblins won the AAA Class 5A team title in 2012, a third place finish in 2013, and a runner-up finish this fall. In 2013, Jake placed his personal best at the state tournament finishing tied for seventh with a round of 79.

"When I met Jake and watched him play golf, I knew he was an individual I wanted on our squad. He is just moving into his best golf. He has the length and the mind set to be a pace setter in the MIAA," said Coach Wheeler.

Jake is a three time All-District and All-State performer with a scoring average of 75.

Badovinac has one sister, Jennie, and is the son of Jim and Jan Badovinac. He plans to major in marketing while attending Southern.
