Eleven MSSU soccer players receive MIAA academic honors

The MIAA office announced today the Women's Soccer Academic Honor Roll and 11 Lions earned academic honors.

To be eligible for the honor roll, a student athlete must have a cumulatve grade point average of at least a 3.0 and have at least two terms of attendance at the school.

Named to the honor roll for the Lions were seniors Beth Hammons, Kelsey Haist, and Nga Vo. All six juniors on the 2014 squad and two sophomores earned the academic honors as well. Haist and Hammons are now a three time MIAA Academic Honor Roll honorees.

Sophomore Carly Cecil, 3.84 GPA in Biology, earned the lone MIAA Scholar Athlete honors for the 2014 Lions. The MIAA Scholar Athlete Award, is given to those who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50, have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms, and, if competing in a championship sport of the MIAA, earn All-MIAA honors. Cecil earned honorable mention All-MIAA honors this past season at defender.
