The Missouri Southern men's and women's outdoor track and field programs had 12 All-Region performances honored today by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The Lions' men had eight performances led by three from Bryan Burns as he earned All-Region honors in the shot put, hammer and discus. Vincent Kiprop earned All-Region honors in the 5k and 10k, while Daniel Hernandez and Derek Webb both had All-Region honors in the javelin. Jordyn Manier picked up his All-Region honor in the long jump.
On the women's side, four different Lions earned honors. Desirea Buerge picked up All-Region honors in the discus, while Emily Harris earned honors in the 1,500m. Allie Heckemeyer picked up honors in the triple jump, while Emily Presley earned honors in the pole vault.
The Lions will wait for the announcement this week of those individuals that have qualified for the 2017 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The meet will take place on May 25-27 in Bradenton, Fla.
