MSSU's Heckemeyer, Parr compete during first day of MIAA Championships

Bolivar, Mo. -- Allie Heckemeyer is in third and Kyle Parr is in 12th as the pair competed at the multis in day one of the 2017 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Southwest Baptist University.

Heckemeyer was second in the high jump and third in the 200m and sits in third place overall after the first four events of the heptathlon is in third place, just 218 points behind the leader. Heckemeyer has 2,917 points going into the final three events which will take place tomorrow. She will compete in the long jump, javelin and the 800m.

Parr is in 12th place overall after day one of the decathlon. Parr has 2,417 points after the first five events and will take part in the 110m hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin and 1,500m to finish off the event tomorrow.
