The Golf Coaches Association of America announced the Division II Ping All-Region honorees today and Missouri Southern junior Connor Neil earned the honor in the Central Region.
Neil finished this year tied for 11th at the NCAA D-II Central/Midwest Regional in Awarii Dunes with a three day total of 208 (8-under). Neil shot under par all three rounds (71-68-69) and tallied a pair of eagles on the 508 yard par 5 14th hole.
"I am extremely proud of Connor," said head coach Mike Wheeler. "Connor had an outstanding spring season and finished the year very well."
Neil had three top three finishes in his final four meets of the regular season that started with a runner-up finish, lost on a play off hole, at the St. Edward's Invitational with a 6-under 204. Neil finished third the following tournament, Southern Bancorp Invitational hosted by Henderson State with an even par 216 and third at the MIAA Championships at Sycamore Ridge Golf Club in Spring Hill, Kan. with a 2-over 218 despite poor weather conditions on the final day.
