Kearney, Neb. - Missouri Southern junior Connor Neil looks to continue his recent hot streak this week in the NCAA D2 Midwest/Central Regional at Awarii Dunes.
"Connor has had a good year, with an exceptional spring," said head coach Mike Wheeler. "He had two third place finishes and technically a win in Texas and his adjusted scoring average this spring is 73."
Neil has three top three finishes in his last four tournaments including a second-place finish, after a playoff hole, at the St. Edward's Invitational at Onion Creek CC and third at the MIAA Championships. Neil is currently ranked 20th in the 30 team Central Region.
Neil has participated in all 11 tournaments this season for the Lions, playing 28 rounds. In those 28 rounds, he has a scoring average of 73.9 and posted five rounds in the 60s including a new career low 66 in the second round at Onion Creek.
Neil played at Awarii Dunes to open the 2016-17 season in the UNK Invitational. He carded a 69 in the opening round during the MIAA points event and followed that up with an 82 in the final round that was finished the following day after a suspension of play due to darkness.
