Southern men's, women's basketball places 10 student-athletes on MIAA Academic Honor Roll

A total of ten Missouri Southern student-athletes were named to the MIAA Men's and Women's Basketball Academic Honor Roll, the league announced its academic honors list today.

In addition to those individuals, one female was named an MIAA Academic Excellence Award winner. Of ten that were honored, four came from the men's team and six from the women.

To be recognized on the Academic Honor Roll, one must have a grade point average (GPA) used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.00 at the certifying member institution. The individual must also have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.








The men who earned the honor Ted Brown, Dexter Frisbie, Parker Jennings and Cam Martin

The Women who earned the honor were Amber Buch, Zoe Campbell, Destiny Cozart, Chasidee Owens, Jordan Schoenberger and Layne Skiles.

To earn the Academic Excellence Award, a student-athlete must maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA, as well as satisfy the two terms of attendance. Skiles was one of only 12 student-athletes in the MIAA achieving this plateau.
