MSSU to open NCAA play against Northern State

The No. 22 ranked Missouri Southern men's basketball program will head to its third-straight NCAA Tournament as the Lions will be the 5th seed and take on 4th seed Northern State in the Central Region Tournament to take place at Northwest Missouri.

The Lions have played Northern State twice in the program's history, losing both matchups (2014 and 2017). The tournament will start on Saturday, March 14 with semifinal games played on Sunday, March 15. The Championship game will be played on Tuesday night on March 17.








The three-straight appearances for the Lions in the NCAA Tournament is a program first. Northwest Missouri is the number one seed in the tournament, followed by two seed Southern Nazarene. Southeastern Oklahoma is third, followed by Northern State, Missouri Southern, Rogers State, Henderson State and Oklahoma Baptist.
