Missouri Southern senior Eric Schott has been named the MIAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week the league office announced today.
It is Schott's second weekly honor this season and he has won the award in each week the Lions have competed.
Schott, a 5-8 native of Cape Girardeau, Mo., was the top non-Division I runner at the prestigious Chili Pepper Invitational this past weekend at the University of Arkansas. He traversed the 8k course in a time of 24:13.0, just 20 seconds off of the race leader with the next closest Division II runner being 21 seconds behind him.
Schott and the Lions will be back in action this Saturday, traveling to Bolivar to compete in the Southwest Baptist Invitational.
