The Missouri Southern Lions Women's Basketball team has been picked sixth in the 2014-15 MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll released today.
Under second year head coach Ronda Hubbard the Lions are returning five players from last years squad which went won 19 games and advanced to the second round of the MIAA Postseason Tournament. Coach Hubbard has also added three junior college transfers and six freshman to this years squad.
Emporia state was once again picked to win the league as they garnered five first place votes, Pittsburg State was tabbed second and also picked up five first place votes. Rounding out the top four were Washburn with three first place votes and Fort Hays State with one first place vote. Central Missouri came in at five with Southern, Lindenwood, Northeastern State, Northwest Missouri, and Central Oklahoma rounding out the top 10. Missouri Western, Southwest Baptist, Nebraska-Kearney and Lincoln round out the poll.
The Lions will start their season with an exhibition game against Livin' The Dream on Novemember 7th at 7pm inside The Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
