Missouri Southern men win SBU cross country meet

The Missouri Southern men's cross country team had three of the top four runners and six in the top 11 as the Lions took the team title and Eric Schott won the individual title tonight at the SBU Invite.

Schott traversed the 8k course in a time of 25:08.97, finishing 14 seconds in front of teammate Adrian Todd who placed second. Andrew Webster was fourth, while Tyler Rush placed seventh, Colton Wooldridge was ninth andAlex Mason was 11th.

Ben Southwick placed 17th, while Jacob Coffman was 20th and Drake Smelser placed 24th. Nathan Henry was 37th, while Travis Elbert finished 50th.

The Lions had six runners in the top nine and seven in the top 14 to score 19 points and win by 26 points over second-place Central Missouri who had 47 team points. Southwest Baptist had 70 points and finished third, while Emporia State was fourth and Coffeyville CC placed fifth to round out the team scores.

The Lions will be back in action on Oct. 25 when the team travels to Rolla to compete in the Jackling Jocks Invitational hosted by Missouri S&T.
