(From MSSU Lions Athletic News)
The Missouri Southern men's track and field team has been picked to finish third in the MIAA Preseason Indoor Track and Field Coaches Poll the league announced today.
The Lions return a pair of All-Americans in both Brady Melugin (pictured) and Darion Boure from last year's indoor team that finished in second place at the MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Also returning to the fold is Jeff Fraley, who was ranked in the top ten of both the 200m and 60m and was the MIAA Indoor High Point winner before he injured himself at indoor nationals.
Defending league champ Pittsburg State earned seven first-place votes and was picked to repeat. Central Missouri picked up two first-place votes and was picked second with 69 points. Southern picked up one first-place vote and had 68 points, just behind Central Missouri. Nebraska-Kearney was fourth, followed by Lincoln, Emporia State, Southwest Baptist, Lindenwood, Northwest Missouri and Fort Hays State to round out the poll.
The Lions open up the indoor season on December 6 when Southern plays host to the MSSU Invite at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
