Pitt State infielder Reed named MIAA Hitter of the Week

Pittsburg State University junior infielder Dallas Reed was named the MIAA Hitter of the Week Tuesday (Feb. 14).

Reed hit .615 and slugged 1.308 in a three-game series sweep by the Gorillas over the University of Sioux Falls Feb. 11-12. The San Diego, Calif., native belted two home runs and drove in eight runs in the series against the Cougars.

Reed came up a double short of hitting for the cycle in the series opener, going 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored, a triple and a home run, while driving in 4 runs in a 21-11 win. In game two, Reed went 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored and belted a 3-run HR that gave the Gorillas a 10-9 lead en route to a 13-11 Pitt State win. He finished the series with a 2-for-4 outing with a double and 2 runs scored in the Gorillas 14-8 win.
