Rush takes first, Lions finish second at Southwest Baptist

Despite taking home the individual medalist, the Missouri Southern men's cross country team finished third as a team today at the Southwest Baptist Invitational.

Tyler Rush won the event, as he traversed the 6400m course in a time of 20:41.35. Nathan Henry was ninth, while Blake Barth finished 15th and Jacob Coffman was 22nd. Jared Haltom was 37th, Ryan Drendel placed 41st, Luke Johnson was 49th, and Zach Caruthers placed 62nd.

SBU won the event with 26 points, while Central Missouri was second, Southern third, Missouri S&T fourth and John Brown fifth.

The Lions will be off for one week before coming home to play host to the Southern Stampede on September 19.
