The Missouri Southern Women's Soccer team fell Thursday night 4-0 to the Drury Panthers at the Cooper Soccer Complex.
Drury scored their first goal in the 27th minute as Ciara O'Brien scored off a free kick. Emily Cline made it 2-0 Drury just a minute later from 10 yards out off the assist from Emma Huggett. The Panthers then struck again in the first half as Rachel Krueger scored from eight yards out off a cross from Ashley Morefield to make it 3-0 Panthers at the break.
The second half saw more Drury scoring action as Bertiz Uxoa Ayuso scored from 35 yards out off the assist from Kerri Morris in the 71st minute.
The Lions were shutout as they managed just four shots on the night, three from sophomore Taylor Beck and one from junior transfer Kelly Sutton. Senior goalkeeper Shawnee Phillips logged all 90 minutes in the net allowing the four scores and coming up with another four saves.
Southern will be back in action on Saturday as they travel back to Springfield to take on Missouri S&T from Harrison Stadium. Kick off for the neutral site game is slated for 5pm.
