The Missouri Southern women's cross country team finished tied in points with Southwest Baptist, but finished second in the team standings today at the SBU Invite.
Both teams ended up with the same point total, but SBU won the event on tiebreakers that included highest finishers.
Emily Harris and Sierra Gray finished fifth as they traversed the 5k course in times of 19:21.92 and 19:25.52. Cynthia Torres was seventh, followed by Sarah Usher at 8th and Kindra Emberton at 9th. Alessandra Moss placed 13th, while Sara Linwas 25th. Shelby Werner placed 33rd and Cora Butcher-Spellman was 46th.
SBU and MSSU both had 28 points to finish 1st and 2nd, while Central Missouri was 3rd, Missouri S&T was 4th, John Brown was 5th, Cottey College was 6th and Lincoln was 7th.
The Lions will be off for one week before coming home to play host to the Southern Stampede on September 19.
