The Missouri Southern volleyball team picked up a strong night from Monica White, but the Lions fell three sets to none at Northwest Missouri.
The Lions (0-12, 0-2 MIAA) were led offensively by White's seven kills and .462 attack average. She also added a block.Bridgette Jaeger had six kills and five digs, while Callie Whetstone and Alyx Gepford had five kills each. Whetstone hit .364 and added two blocks. Abby Finder dished out 20 assists and added eight digs, while Katie Wiele had a match-high 13 digs.
Southern hit .187 in the match and the opening set featured four tied scores with one lead change. Set two had two tied scores and two lead changes, while Northwest (9-3, 2-0 MIAA) led from start to finish in the final set.
The Lions will be back in action when they play host to Emporia State next Friday. First serve from Young Gym is slated for 6 pm.
