MSSU's Finder records 3,000th assist, but Lions fall to PSU

The Missouri Southern volleyball team saw a milestone pass, but could not pull out a road win as the Lions fell three sets to none tonight at Pittsburg State. Individual set scores were 16-25, 18-25 and 18-25.

Southern (2-25, 1-15 MIAA) setter Abby Finder had 24 assists in the match, giving her 3,011 in her career. She also added nine digs. Payton Graves had nine kills and hit .500, while Callie Whetstone had seven kills and a block. Bridgette Jaeger added five kills and six digs, while Katie Wiele had a team-high ten digs.

PSU (2-25, 2-14 MIAA) was led by 11 kills from Maggie Highberger.

Set one saw one tied score and one lead change, while the second set was tighter with four ties and two lead changes. The third set saw one tied score and one lead change.

The Lions will be back in action next weekend when they travel to Fort Hays and Nebraska-Kearney to finish out the season.
