(From MSSU Lions Athletic News)

Missouri Southern Men's Golf Head Coach Mike Wheeler announced today the signing of Chase Rogers for the 2016-17 season.

Rogers is a native of Rogers, Arkansas and will graduate in 2016 from Rogers HS. During Chase's junior year he earned both most improved and low stroke average team awards for the Mounties. His low stroke average for the 2014 season was 37.8 based on nine holes while serving as a team captain. During his senior campaign Chase helped Rogers HS to a 7A West runner-up finish and a fourth place finish at the Arkansas HS Class 7A meet. He once again severed the Mounties as a team captain while lowering his nine hole average to 36.9 which again won him the low stroke average award. Chase also earned both All-Conference and All-State honors during the 2015 season. Chase also earned medalist honors in four of the Rogers HS tournaments this past season.

"Chase is a quality student-athlete from Rogers and we are very fortunate to sign him. Not only is he a great athlete on the course but he is a great student in the classroom as well," said Coach Wheeler. "He is a student of a great instructor, Philip Walker, of the Back Nine Golf Academy in Bentonville. He [Chase] has all the skills we are looking forward as we take the next step to be a conisistent top three team in the MIAA. I am looking forward to being his coach and seeing him compete at a very high level."

Rogers also played two years in left field for the Mounties Baseball team and coach Matt Melson. He is the son of Randy Rogers and Jennifer DeArmond and has one sibling, Taylor, and plans on majoring in business at Southern. Chase's father, Randy, played football at Louisiana Tech along with his uncle Trey Doncer.
