MSSU volleyball ends season with loss to Nebraska-Kearney

The Missouri Southern volleyball team finished the season tonight as they dropped a three set match at 12th ranked Nebraska-Kearney. Individual set scores were 15-25, 15-25 and 21-25.

The Lions (2-27, 1-17 MIAA) were led offensively by Payton Graves as the senior had seven kills and hit .467. Monica White and Bridgette Jaeger had six kills each, while Callie Whetstone ha dfour kills and five blocks. Abby Finder dished out 23 assists and added four digs and three blocks, whileKatie Wiele had 11 digs.

UNK (28-5, 15-3 MIAA) was led by Annie Wolfe with 11 kills. Erin Steele had 35 assists, while Skyler Erickson had 11 digs.

Southern had seven team blocks in the match. The first two sets were all UNK, while the third set saw six tied scores and three lead changes.

Whetstone finishes her career with 405 total blocks and 343 block assists. The 343 assists is number one all-time in MSSU history, while her 405 total blocks rank fourth all time. It's the most blocks in a career for a Lion since 1997.

Finder finishes her career with 3,052 assists. That number ranks fourth all-time in MSSU history.
