MSSU volleyball loses to Central Oklahoma in three sets

The Missouri Southern volleyball team fell three sets to none tonight at 15th ranked Central Oklahoma. Individual set scores were 16-25, 9-25 and 15-25.

Southern (2-23, 1-14 MIAA) was led offensively by Abby Finder. The senior dished out 20 assists and added a team-high nine digs. The 20 assists give her 2,987 and she is just 13 away from being the fifth Lion to ever surpass the 3,000 assist mark.Monica White, Bridgette Jaeger and Alyx Gepford had six kills each, while Callie Whetstone added five kills and three blocks.Katie Wiele had eight digs.

UCO (25-3, 13-2 MIAA) was led by Taylor Bevis with 17 kills. Katy Davis had 41 assists, while Whitney Gifford had 22 digs.

The first set saw UCO lead from start to finish, while set two saw one lead change and one tied score. Set three saw two tied scores and one lead change.

The Lions will be back in action tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Pittsburg to take on Pitt State. First serve from John Lance Arena is slated for 4 pm.
