Four MSSU women's basketball players named All-MIAA

 Four Missouri Southern women's basketball players were named All-MIAA today as announced by the conference office. Senior forward Dominique Mosley earned First-Team All-MIAA honors while senior center Shonte Clay, junior guard Alexis Fitzpatrick and sophomore guard Sharese Jones earned All-MIAA honorable mention honors.
Mosley led the Lions in scoring and rebounding on the year averaging 15.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, while she averaged 14.0 points and 6.7 rebounds per game during the MIAA season. Playing in all 26 games with 10 starts at forward, Mosley shot 50.0% from the field on the year while shooting 77.7% from the free throw line. She scored in double figures in 20 of the Lions' 26 games while notching six double-doubles on the year. She scored a season-high 30 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the field and grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds against Rockhurst, while going a perfect 10-10 from the free throw line. The month of February was especially strong for Mosley as she averaged 16.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game in Southern's seven games in February.
Clay played in all 26 games this year making 17 starts while ranking third on the team in scoring and rebounding averaging 11.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. She ranked in the top 10 in the MIAA in field goal percentage shooting 53.6% (112-209) while leading the team in blocks with 25 and shooting 74.4% (61-82) from the free throw line. She scored a season-high 26 points in a win at home against Evangel and scored in double figures in 13 games.
Fitzpatrick played in all 26 games this year making 24 starts at guard while leading the MIAA in steals at 2.5 and minutes played at 32.0 per game while ranking in the top 10 in the MIAA in assists with 3.6 assists per game. She averaged 8.0 points and 3.1 rebounds per game while shooting 38.1% from the field and led the team in three-pointers made with 34. She scored a season-high 18 points in a 71-61 win at Lindenwood.
Jones started all 26 games at guard this year ranking second on the team and in the top 20 in the MIAA in points and rebounds per game averaging 13.9 points and 6.7 rebounds. She led the team in field goal percentage shooting 54.6% hitting 107-of-196 from the field while ranking in the top five in the MIAA in free throw percentage hitting 80.4% (135-168) from the charity stripe. She scored in double figures in 21 games and notched a season-best 29 points and 15 rebounds in a 99-83 win at home over Southwestern Oklahoma State.
The Lions will be back in action on Thursday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the MIAA Tournament at 2:15 p.m. at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City taking on the winner of tonight's first round game between Nebraska-Kearney and Fort Hays State.
