MSSU's David Reese named National Pitcher of the Week

(From MSSU Lions Athletic News)

Missouri Southern senior pitcher David Reese has been named the Division II National Pitcher of the Week by d2baseball.com, the organization announced.
Reese, a 6-2 native of Olathe, Kan., has helped the Lions to a 12-1 start and a No. 14 national ranking.
Reese pitched game one of a four-game sweep against Fort Hays last week. He went the distance for the complete-game shutout, limiting the Tigers to just one hit, while striking out nine and walking none. He allowed only four batters to reach, two to get to second base and just one reached third and sent down the last ten batters in a row.
For the year, Reese is 3-0 with a 1.59 ERA. He has struck out 20 batters in 17 innings. Opponents are hitting a mere .219.
Reese and the Lions will be back at it tomorrow afternoon when Southern plays host to Emporia State in a double-header beginning at 1 pm from Joe Becker Stadium.
