The Missouri Southern men's track and field program has been picked to finish second in the preseason MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Poll as announced by the league office today.
The Lions, coming off a 19th-place finish at the 2014 NCAA Division II Indoor Championships, finished a point and a half behind Pittsburg State for the 2014 MIAA indoor title and sit eight points behind the Gorillas for the top spot in the preseason poll.
PSU has 79 points and eight first-place votes, while the Lions have 71 points and two first-place votes. Central Missouri is third, followed by Nebraska-Kearney, Lincoln, Emporia State, Southwest Baptist, Northwest Missouri, Lindenwood and Fort Hays to round out the poll.
The Lions will be in action this weekend at Pitt State to open up the outdoor season. The complete MIAA preseason poll is listed below.
