Missouri Southern women's soccer coach Alese Woolard has announced the addition of eight individuals for the 2014 season.
Below are bios on each of the signings.
Taylor Beck, 5-4, Midfielder, Carl Junction, Mo./Carl Junction HS
Taylor comes to Southern from nearby Carl Junction High School where she was a three-year letter winner at midfield and forward for the Bulldogs and head coach Kevin Hauck. As a junior in 2012, Beck earned first-team All-District, All-Region and honorable mention All-State honors. This past year as a senior, Beck again earned first-team All-District, All-Region and honorable mention All-State honors. Taylor also earned a pair of letters playing shooting guard in basketball for the Bulldogs. In addition to her athletics honors, Beck was also a part of National Honor Society and an officer and vice president of FFA at CJHS. A high school teammate of fellow Lion signee Anissa Williams, Taylor played club soccer with Williams for the Pink Panthers and coach Travis Beck. Taylor is the daughter of Russell and Deborah Beck and plans to major in nursing.
Hannah Bomar, 5-6, Forward, Lake Lotawana, Mo. /Lee's Summit North HS
Hannah comes to Southern from Lee's Summit North High School where she was a three-year letter winner at forward for the Broncos and head coach Ryan Kelley. As a junior in 2013, Bomar earned first-team All-District honors. As a freshman in 2011, she helped lead the Broncos to the high school district and conference championship while helping LSHS reach the state finals in 2012 as a sophomore. Bomar also played two years of club soccer for KC Fusion reaching the finals of the Kansas State Cup and won the Midwest Regional Championships. Hannah also played in the Olympic Development Program from 2007-09. Hannah is the daughter of former Southern Men's Soccer player Robert and Tonia Bomar and plans to major in either secondary education or early childhood.
Aubrie Hirsch, 5-3, Forward, Lee's Summit, Mo. /Lee's Summit HS
Aubrie comes to Southern from Lee's Summit, Missouri and Lee's Summit High School where she was a four-year letter winner for the Tigers and head coach Dave Weibenga. A teammate of fellow Lion signee Jacqueline Sampson, Hirsch played both forward and midfielder for the Tigers. Aubrie also lettered two years in cross country at LSHS where she earned first-team all-conference honors and qualified for the state meet. She was also a Kansas City Metro honorable mention and a National Elite first-team selection in cross country. Hirsch played club soccer for Sporting Blue Valley NPL for three years where they were a Kansas finalist in 2013 and an NPL Regional Champion in 2014. In addition to her athletic achievements, Aubrie was a member of the honor roll as well as the citizenship honor roll along with being active in the A+ Program. Aubrie is the daughter of Mark and Michelle Hirsch and plans to major in health care or nursing.
Brooke Ishmael, 5-4, Defender, Sand Springs, Okla. /Charles Page HS
Brooke comes to Southern from Sand Springs, Oklahoma where she attended Charles Page High School. Ishmael was a three-year letter winner at defender for the Sandites and head coach Caleb Horton earning defensive MVP at CPHS for three years. She was also named academic all-conference and honorable mention All-District for two years each. Ishmael was also named the Wendy's High School Heisman Winner for Charles Page High School and played six years for club team TSC Hurricane and coach Dave Bolding. Brooke is the sister of current Lion Hannah Ishmael, who will be a junior midfielder in 2014, and the daughter of Tony and Rebecca Ishmael.
Hanna Johnson, 5-6, Goalkeeper, Cleburne, Texas/Celburne HS
Hanna comes to Southern from Cleburne, Texas where she attended Cleburne High School earning three letters for the Lady Jackets as a goalkeeper and head coach Crystal Sandefur. Johnson earned All-District and All-County honors in goal while being named a captain as a senior and also earned Academic All-District honors at Cleburne High School. She also played club soccer for the D'Feeters for coach Hugh Bradford where the club was an ECNL Nationals finalist. In addition, Johnson also played libero on the volleyball team and earned MVP honors and the Jacket Hustle Award on the volleyball court. Hanna is the daughter of Darren Johnson and Landy Booty and plans to major in psychology and biology.
Jacqueline Sampson, 5-3, Midfielder, Lee's Summit. Mo. /Lee's Summit HS
Jacqueline comes to Southern from Lee's Summit, Missouri where she attended Lee's Summit High School and was a three-year letter winner for the Tigers at midfielder and forward and head coach David Wiebenga. In addition to her play on the soccer field, Sampson was also active in National Honor Society, Student Senate and was a member of the Principal's Honor Roll. Sampson also played club soccer for four years with the Sporting Blue Valley Chiefs at midfielder for coach Jon Collett. Jacqueline is the daughter of Michael and Vangie Sampson and has two sisters, Jennifer and Ashley who played soccer at Baker University in Kansas.
Bryar Wiley, 5-6, Forward, Ballwin, Mo. /Marquette HS
Bryar arrives at Southern after attending Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale, Arizona the past three and half years where she was a three-year letter winner for the Wolves and coaches Jason Hall and Brad Keller. At Desert Mountain, she played forward where she earned Scottsdale All-City and All-Section honors and was a two-year captain and MVP for her team. Leading her team in assists, Wiley also earned East Valley Tribune Honorable Mention honors. Her family recently moved to Ballwin, Missouri where she is attending Marquette High School and will graduate from in May. She also played club soccer for two years for the Sereno Soccer Club ECNL and coach Paul Taylor. Finally, Wiley played five years in the Arizona Olympic Development Program from 2008-2012 where her team made the state tournament. Bryar is the daughter of Kirk and Tia Wiley and plans on majoring in biology.
Anissa Williams, 5-4, Forward, Carl Junction, Mo./Carl Junction HS
Anissa comes to Southern from nearby Carl Junction High School where she was a three-year letter winner at forward and midfield for the Bulldogs and head coach Kevin Hauck. She earned first team All-District honors, along with being named the District Offensive Player of the Year and the team Offensive Player of the Year as a senior in 2013. Williams also earned two letters playing basketball at Carl Junction. Along with her athletic accomplishments, Williams was a part of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society and was president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She was also active in FBLA and the A+ Program. Anissa is the daughter of former Southern baseball player Rocky Williams and Paula Gordon, both of whom graduated from Missouri Southern.
