Missouri Southern senior guard Marquis Addison has been named a second-team All-Region selection as named by Daktronics and the Sports Information Directors.
Addison was a first-team All-MIAA pick this season and was named to the All-Tournament Team after helping lead the Lions to the 2014 MIAA Tournament Championship this past weekend in Kansas City. Addison averaged 21.0 points and 4.7 rebounds in the tournament.
For the season, Addison ranks ninth in scoring in the MIAA, while ranking 13th in field goal percentage, fifth in both free-throw shooting and steals and 13th in three-pointers made per game.
He currently has 1,613 points, putting him in front of Keane Thomann for sixth all-time and he is 51 behind Skyler Bowlin for fifth all-time. He is the fifth Lion in the past three seasons to pass 1,000, joining Jason Adams, Skyler Bowlin, Jordan Talbert and Thomann.
Addison sits at No. 6 in the career scoring list, No. 2 in career free-throw percentage and No. 4 in steals in the history of MSSU men's basketball.
The Lions will open up the NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament this Saturday with a 12 pm tip off against Fort Hays State in Mankato, Minn.
