(From MSSU Lions Athletic News)

Former Missouri Southern men's basketball coach Robert Corn is one of nine individuals that will be inducted into the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame later this month.

The MBCA will hold the ceremony on April 25 at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mo. Tickets for the event may be purchased from the MBCA for $20 at the door. The Hall of Fame will open at 11 am and lunch will be served at noon with the ceremony to follow.

In his final season on the court at MSSU, Corn led the Lions to the 2014 MIAA Basketball Tournament Title. He ended his illustrious career on the sidelines at Missouri Southern after 25 seasons with the most wins ever by a coach at the school (413). He has the fourth-most wins amongst coaches in MIAA history and led the Lions to 16-straight trips to the MIAA Tournament, 21 overall, and in 2014 was named the MIAA Coach of the Year, his fourth overall, after picking up the ninth 20-win season in his career at Southern. He was also a finalist for the National Coach of the Year Award

In 2014, the Lions made the program's fifth appearance in the NCAA Tournament under Corn after going 25-6 overall. Southern finished the season as one of the best-shooting teams in the history of the program. The team set the single-season mark for field goal percentage (.510), as well as three-point field goal percentage (.413), besting the marks of .506 from the field in 1980-81 and .391 from long-range in 1988-89.

Joining Corn as part of this year's induction class is Ron Rhodes (Festus HS), Brad Boyer (Media), Jay Blossom (Webster Groves HS), Jay Osbrne (Nixa HS), Mark Spigarelli (Blue Springs HS), Denny Hunt (Southwest Baptist), Kenneth Layman (Hardin Central HS) and John Thompson (Jefferson City)
