The 17th ranked Missouri Southern baseball team swept a double-header from visiting Lincoln University today, winning 7-0 in game one and 10-0 in the nightcap.
The Lions (30-9, 21-5 MIAA) got superb pitching from both Cody Hutchinson and Payton Walker, as well as a perfect day at the plate from Jacob Bryant.
Hutchinson went the distance in game one, striking out five and allowing just four hits in the complete-game shutout.
The Lions scored two in the second inning on a Bryant single and an RBI from Mitchell Osburn. Another two crossed the plate in the fourth from an RBI double from Jon Davis and an RBI single from Richie Gorski.
Bryant added a three-run home run in the fifth to push the score to 7-0.

The Lions pushed across a run in the second when Axel Johnson tripled to start the inning and he scored on an RBI single from Robbe Ewing. Southern added two runs in the fourth on RBIs from Gorski and Chris Hoffman.
Another run crossed in the fifth on a Bryant RBI single, and the Lions pushed across six runs in the sixth to blow the game open.
