MSSU's Sean Goostree named MIAA Pitcher of the Week

Missouri Southern sophomore righty Sean Goostree has been named the AstroTurf/MIAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the league announced today.

Goostree, a 6-3 native of Wheaton, Mo., became the 8th pitcher in MSSU history last week to throw a no-hitter when he blanked Pittsburg State in mid-week action.

He faced just four batters over the minimum, striking out eight and walking none. The more impressive part to this no-hitter was the fact that Goostree sat on the bench for 1:07 of a rain delay in the third inning before he went back out to finish the game.

Goostree and the 26th ranked Lions are in action today at Emporia State. First pitch of the non-conference, single nine-inning game is slated for 4 pm.
