MSSU assistant basketball coach resigns

(From MSSU Lions Athletic News)

Missouri Southern head men's basketball coach Jeff Boschee has announced that assistant coach Nick Bradford has submitted his letter of resignation in order to pursue other professional goals.

Bradford was an assistant under former MSSU head coach Robert Corn for one season and then became Boschee's top assistant this season in Boschee's first year as head coach.

In his two years at MSSU, Bradford helped the Lions have one of the most dominant inside presences in the MIAA and all of Division II. In his first season with the Lions, he helped the team go 25-6, win the MIAA Tournament and advance to the NCAA Tournament.

Post players Jordan Talbert and Slim Magee were both named to the MIAA All-Defensive Team and Magee was named the MIAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player. Magee also set the MSSU single-season record for blocks.

This season, the Lions again won 20 games and advanced to the MIAA Tournament Title game. Greg Renfroewas named to the MIAA's All-Defensive Team and he finished the season with 62 blocks, giving the Lions the top two single-season block totals in Bradford's tenure.

"First off I want to thank Coach Bradford for all of his time and dedication to Missouri Southern," Boschee said. "We're certainly grateful for his two years with our basketball program and we wish him the best in all of his future endeavors."
