The Missouri Southern men's track and field team will open up the 2014 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships Saturday afternoon in Jefferson City as Lincoln University plays host to the event.
The Lions are ranked sixth in the latest regional poll going into the championships and have 11 NCAA provisional qualifying marks for nationals.
Darion Boure currently has the top qualifying mark for the Lions as he ranks fourth in the triple jump. He also ranks 28th in the long jump.
Eric Schott ranks 8th in the 10k, while ranking 20th in the 5k. Clark Tanksley ranks 11th in the high jump, while the trio of vaulters in Brady Melugin (12th), Raymond Woldtvedt (21st) and Morgan Hold (32nd) all have provisional marks.
Nicklas Polizzi ranks 23rd in the discus, while Jazz Allen ranks 35th in the 110m hurdles. Zach Williams ranks 37th in the javelin.
Polizzi will be the first in action for the Lions as the Discus starts field events off on Saturday at 12:30 pm from Dwight T. Reed Stadium in Jefferson City. The running events will begin at 4 pm with the 110m hurdle prelims.
