MSSU women's track places fourth in MIAA

The Missouri Southern women's track and field team placed fourth after the final day of the 2014 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Dwight T. Reed Stadium on the campus of Lincoln University.
The Lions secured four All-MIAA performances and eight top-five finishes in the final day of action. 
Whitney Hardy picked up All-MIAA honors in the high jump with a provisional height of 5-07.25, while Kaylee Morgan and Shelby Sutherland placed 10th and 13th, respectively in the event. 
Brittani Reagan picked up All-MIAA honors in the triple jump as the Lions put three in the top six. Reagan placed second leaped to a provisional distance of 39-03.00, while Amber White was fifth and Shelby Newell placed sixth. 
Kylie Cornman earned All-MIAA honors in the shot put with a third place toss of 48-02.50, while placing eighth in the hammer throw in a distance of 153-07. 
Jasmin Hughes finished eighth in the 100m dash in a time of 12.35, while White placed fourth in the 200m and fifth in the 400m. White finished in a time of 24.92 in the 200m and a provisional time of 54.84 in the 400m. 
Kindra Emberton finished fifth in the 800m with a provisional time of 2:10.18, while Dora Eastin was seventh in the 1,500m in a time of 4:47.94. Dana Roberson and Addie Mengwasser placed 11th and 13th in the event, respectively. 
Kaitlyn Belisle placed second and earned All-MIAA honors in the 5k with a time of 18:07.39, while Emily Harrisplaced fifth in the event. Sierra Gray was 14th, while Dora Eastin placed 18th. Gray placed sixth in the 3k steeple chase in a new personal best time of 11:56.08, while the 4,100m relay team of Emily PaullusTraci Walker, Hughes and Morgan placed seventh in a time of 48.29. 
The 4x400m relay team of White, Hardy, Sydney Potts and Emberton placed 10th in a time of 3:56.44. 
In all, the Lions had six All-MIAA performers at the Championships this weekend. Below is a complete list of all the honorees. The Lions will be back in action on Friday, May 9, as they play host to their last chance meet at Fred G. Hughes Stadium.
