Missouri Southern junior golfer Ryan Buerk shot a two-over par 74 and is tied for 24th overall at the 2014 NCAA Division II Midwest/Central Regional held at Fox Run Golf Club in Euerka, Mo.
Buerk started on hole number ten today and birdied the par four to start things right. He went par on the next six holes and then went bogey, birdie, bogey to finish the back nine at even par.
He started the front nine with a bogey, but added a birdie on hole number three to pull back to even par. A bogey on five and seven, sandwiched around a double on six put him at four over going into the final two holes, but he birdied both eight and nine to recover for two over on the day.
Buerk is the eighth-highest finishing MIAA golfer after day one. Malone University out of the GLIAC, has the round-one lead, followed closely by Grand Valley State, one stroke back and Central Missouri, two strokes back. Lindenwood is tied for fourth with Henderson State of the GAC, four strokes back.
Buerk will start things off early tomorrow morning as he will tee off from hole number one at 8:20 AM.
