MSSU men's track places sixth at MIAA

The Missouri Southern men's track and field team placed sixth after the final day of the 2014 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Dwight T. Reed Stadium on the campus of Lincoln University. 

The Lions had two All-MIAA performances on the final day, as well as seven top-five performances. 

Clark Tanksley started things off with a second-place finish in the high jump, leaping to a provisional height of 6-09.75 to earn All-MIAA honors. 

Morgan Hold and Raymond Woldvedt placed seventh each in the pole vault with heights of 15-04.25, while Darion Boure and Tanksley placed fourth and sixth in the triple jump. Boure hit a provisional mark of 48-02.75, while Tanksley leaped to 47-00.75. 

Nicklas Polizzi placed ninth in the shot put with a distance of 48-03.50, while placing sixth in the hammer, hitting a mark of 166-09. 

Miles Migliara placed 8th in the 800m run with a time of 2:02.50, while Tyler Rush placed third in the 1,500m to earn All-MIAA honors with a time of 3:55.46, finishing less than a second off the final pace. Andrew Webster was eighth in the event, while Migliara finished 24th. 

One day after winning the 10k, Eric Schott placed fifth in the 5k with a time of 15:26.44, while Webster, Ryan Jackson, Jake Benton and Colton Wooldridge placed 7th, 11th, 12th and 21st, respectively. 

Jazz Allen finished fourth in the 110m hurdles with a new personal best time of 14.71. Wooldridge placed fourth in the 3k steeple chase with a time of 9:27.22, while Alex Mason, Nathan Henry and Drake Smelser placed 5th, 10th, and 13th respectively. 

The 4x100m relay team of Allen, Anthony Price, Boure and Tanksley placed seventh in a time of 42.24, while the 4x400m relay team of Price, Allen, Buckner and Albright placed 10th. 

In all, the Lions had four All-MIAA performances at the Championships. All four are listed below. Southern will now play host to its last chance meet on May 9th at Fred G. Hughes Stadium.
