The Missouri Southern men's track and field team picked up four provisional marks Saturday as the Lions competed at the 2014 Pittsburg State Gorilla Classic.
Clark Tanksley earned a provisional mark in the high jump as he lost out in fewer misses, placing second with a height of 6-08.25.
In the pole vault, the Lions earned two provisionals with Raymond Woldvedt and Morgan Hold both earning marks with 4th and 5th place finishes, respectively. Zach Wuest placed 7th in the event.
Darion Boure placed fifth in the long jump with a distance of 22-11.75, while he placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 50-01.75. Tylor Albright was 8th in the triple jump.
Nicklas polizzi earned a provisional in the discus with a mark of 166 feet, placing 6th, while Bryan Burns was 10th. Burns placed 8th in the hammer while Polizzi was 10th, and Zach Williams was 7th in the javelin with a distance of 185-07.
Burns placed 7th in the shot put with a distance of 47-06.25, while Jazz Allen was third in the 110m hurdles in a time of 14.58. Alex Mason was fifth in the 1,500m run with a time of 4:03.39, while Colton Wooldridge andNathan Henry placed 7th and 12th, respectively.
Drake Smelser was fourth in the 3k steeplechase, while Anthony Price was 10th in the 100m dash. Drew Buckner was 21st in the 800m, while Jazz Allen was 3rd in the 400m hurdles and Price placed 8th in the 200m.
Jake Benton, Adrian Todd and Ryan Jackson placed 3rd, 4th and 5th in the 5k.
The Lions will be in action this week with stops at Kansas, Missouri S&T and Central Missouri.
